The Firm celebrates its centenary this year and has been based in Station Road, Upminster throughout that period. British Property Awards has awarded the firm Best Estate Agent in Upminster 2021 assessed by an independent panel. The firm offers a full range of property services within one office including Residential Estate Agency and Lettings, Property Management, Insurance Services, and a wide range of Professional services. His work principally involves surveying and valuation of residential property for sellers and purchasers, valuations for Probate and Inheritance Tax and valuations for Capital Gains Tax purposes. He also prepares valuations relating to Leasehold Enfranchisement and Lease Extensions under the Leasehold Reform Housing & Urban Development Act 1993. Mr. Parish is regularly instructed either as an expert witness or single joint expert in relation to Property Disputes where the issue of valuation is involved. He has also acted as an independent expert in relation to Commercial Rent Reviews. The major case in which he was involved was as the Claimant’s Expert in the case of Aquilina & Anor v London Borough of Havering. This particular case involved the compulsory purchase of premises occupied by Dental Surgeons for a major shopping development in Romford. In this particular case the claimants were required to move on two separate occasions to facilitate the development and Mr. Parish eventually settled the claim with the Acquiring Authority, after the matter had been referred to the former Lands Tribunal and the High Court. The entire case lasted for 8 years from start to finish. Amongst other interests, he is the current Chairman of the Upminster Conservation Partnership and the Upminster Old British School Foundation.
