USA Safety Engineering Expert of the Year ABOUT JANINE Dr. Janine McCartney is a Safety Engineer with designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST), Compliance Safety and Health Official in General Industry(CSHO) and a Compliance Safety and Health Official in Construction (CSHO). Dr. McCartney is the Managing Partner and owner of HHC Safety Engineering Services, Inc., and HHC Safety Consulting Services, Corp. Both companies and their original company has served the community for 25 years. Both companies enjoy worldwide acclaim and respect in the safety and legal communities for their safety consulting and expert witness services. Dr. McCartney has held Management safety positions and a Safety Officer II position with OSHA Consultation. She worked for 11 years in the oil & gas industry and pipeline industry on large multi-state pipeline construction projects and as an exploration geologist (onshore and offshore). Dr. McCartney has taught for Texas A&M-Texas Engineering Extension as Adjunct Faculty and teaches the OSHA 10 and 30 hour General Industry and Construction courses for OTI. Her career spans 46 years. Dr. McCartney was awarded the top 10 AM Best Podcast for her August 2024 AM Best Magazine article, How Litigation Funders are Affecting Settlements. She has also been Awarded from 2025-2017, the AM Best Service Provider. She has served as an Editorial Staff of Science of the Total Environment, Helyion, and Data in Brief. From 2025-2017 she has been awarded Safety Engineer Expert of the Year from Lawyer Monthly. She gave the 2018 Keynote Speech at the World Safety Organization. Dr. McCartney works on a day to day basis, as a consultant and as an expert.
